The body of research regarding the benefits of chess has grown over the years. Clinical studies have shown that chess improves critical thinking skills, the willingness to take initiative, the ability to adapt and solve problems creatively - all skills that we cultivate and nurture in our other programs. All of these skills create and sustain leaders throughout their lives.

Studies have also shown that chess improves math and reading test scores. Studies by Dianne Horgan, Ph.D., found that chess improves a child's visual memory, attention span, and spatial-reasoning ability. The reason for this is because Chess demands players think outside the box and consider multiple angles, chess encourages students to be resilient and growth minded. Studies have also shown that chess is a meditative activity that encourages - and rewards- focus and reflection.

Playing chess helps students learn to apply their skills in new and creative ways, ways that further strengthen their ability to negotiate, resolve conflict, think critically on the spot, prepare and manage time effectively, communicate and adapt.

Specialists teach hour long multi media sessions that include challenging puzzles, a socratic-based hands-on teaching method where students are actively engaged in the learning process and ample enough time to apply the tactics they’ve learned with peers in play.
