Model UN is a simulation of the United Nations wherein students role play as delegates from countries all over the world and negotiate solutions to problems in order to create and sustain peace in the international community. 

In this Course, students learn

  • The history, purpose, structure, and necessity of the United Nations and the work done by the standing bodies of the United Nations

  • The objective and myriad benefits of Model United Nations

  • The objective and necessity of the Sustainable Development Goals

  • The function and objective of the standing Committees in the United Nations

  • The purpose and objectives of UN Delegates

  • How diplomacy and negotiation impact international policy and international relations

  • How International agreements impact international relations

  • Which issues affect which countries and why

  • How to draft, develop, and present position papers and resolutions

  • How to debate foreign policy and negotiate diplomatically

  • How to delegate, take the initiative, adapt, mediate, and collaborate to find solutions that will create stronger international bonds and benefit for all.
